COVID-19 plunged the UK into lockdown on 23rd March 2020. Putting a good amount of business that we have fought tooth-and-nail for over the last year, on indefinite hold. Leaving us scratching our heads. What now?

The business networks that we have built deserve real credit. Many people reached out. From members of the IoD to numerous Chambers of Commerce and various networking groups of which we frequent.

Learn to adjust. See the opportunity in the face of a crisis.

Whilst we were knocked off our feet for a week, we soon built ourselves back up. We had to remind ourselves that at least, for Emeka and I, we are fit individuals and in good health. We decided to put our best feet forward and look at the situation in a different light. Any economic shock will ultimately create as many new opportunities as it destroys.
So we pulled up our socks, and in the face of this crisis, have been pushing into new markets. Providing virtual assistance to those who need it most.

As individuals, we are using this downtime to recalibrate and better ourselves. Studying online courses, new languages, reading widely and taking on new virtual exercise regimes.

In summary, we can’t all sit there refreshing the news every five minutes and feeling down. The current restrictions may well last for months on end. There are things that we can control and other things that we cannot. So let’s do what we can to support others, progress ourselves, adapt and adjust our businesses. Results are created when nobody is watching!
